Abortion Consultation & Testing

Here are three important pieces of information you need to Know before making a decision about an abortion or the abortion pill.

1. HOW FAR ALONG YOU ARE

Abortion costs vary and depend on how far along you are, where you get a medical abortion or the type of abortion procedure. Make an appointment for a free ultrasound today to determine fetal development and what options are available to you.

2. IF YOUR PREGNANCY IS NORMAL

It’s important to determine if the pregnancy normal and if you at risk for a natural miscarriage or ectopic (tubal) pregnancy to prevent any complications.

3. DO YOU HAVE AN STD

Having an STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease) at the time you get an abortion can cause PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease) and lead to future reproductive health problems, including infertility, serious infection, and other long-term complications.

At Eve’s Hope, we can provide referrals for free or low-cost STD testing and treatment. These referrals can help you find the right testing and treatment for your conditions and ensure you and your pregnancy are healthy regardless of your decision.

We can walk through all your options, discuss side effects of the different types of abortion and answer any questions or concerns you may have.

There are two main types of abortion:

MEDICAL ABORTION

Medication abortion also called the abortion pill, can be taken up to 70 days (10 weeks pregnant.) The pill ( two drugs, mifepristone and misoprostol) is taken in two doses, one typically at a doctor’s office and the other at home.

SURGICAL ABORTION

There are several types of surgical abortions.  Suction aspiration,  also called suction curettage, or vacuum aspiration abortion, is performed during the first 6 to 16 weeks gestation. Dilation and Evacuation (D&E) is another type of procedure typically done in later weeks. Both types have risks and side-effects and greatly vary depending on your gestation and health.

Before making any decisions, you will need to first know if you are really pregnant. We can provide you with a free ultrasound exam and consultation on abortion.
